HomeLink is a charity, based in Bray Co. Wicklow, which provides support service to enable older people to remain living in their own homes for longer and encourages them to get involved with other members and their communities.
However HomeLink is possibly best known for coordinating pendant alarms (and their grant applications) and the installation of security features such as grab rails so that its members feel more secure and safe in their own homes.
HomeLink was established in May 2008 following a survey,
where Bray Area Partnership identified loneliness and isolation as the two
greatest concerns for people who live alone.
HomeLink operates a confidential telephone support service, arranges basic
repairs and maintenance, and responds to the needs of older people, who no
longer have relatives living close to them.
Hence HomeLink enables the most vulnerable in our communities to
continue to live at home, shows that the community cares and gives members a
greater sense of personal security.
