Dublin Bus

Accessibility initiatives and how they apply to the wheelchair user.

Dublin Bus is committed to giving a quality service that suits all of their customers and in so doing they are making their fleet accessible. As of January 2013, all 920 vehicles cater for those with mobility impairment.  The low-floor buses have one space for a person using a wheelchair and can fit all standard wheelchairs up to 70cm wide and 120cm long.

View details at Passengers Using Wheelchairs.

They have a complaints procedure where breaches of the Disability Act, 2005, can be reported.

The company operates a 'Travel Assistance Scheme' which is available to anyone who would like to use Dublin's public transport system but needs a little help getting started.  It offers practical advice on planning your journey and can provide a trained member of staff to accompany you the first few times you travel.
